Chañar owns its apiaries in the best mellifluous areas of production in Concordia, in the natural forest in the center of the province and in Eucalyptus woods in Entre Rios, Argentina, where totally pure ecological conditions, free from any environmental contamination, guarantee the product’s quality. This product is obtained from a great variety of mellifluous species such as:
(*) A recent research carried out by Argentinian Food Engineer Gabriela Tamaño, doctorate in Honey and lecturer at Food Engineering University in concordia, Entre Rios, showed that the regional Citrus and Eucalyptus honey is unique in the world due to its properties. (see the investigation summary published by SAGYPT and SENASA) Natural conditions where we work, the technological advances used, the application of productive techniques of advance apiculture (systematic renovation of queens), the association with beekeepers assessed by technical experts in apiculture, and a permanent and incessant searching of new means to our progress as a company, are some of the components that contributed to the achievements nowadays we are obtaining.
Production characteristics: The country’s flora and weather conditions are excellent for the apiculture to develop within the territory. Mellifluous flora coming from farms that work in an extensive way is really abundant. This gives the honey greatly appreciated natural characteristics. The management of local bees with a good illness resistance, a continuous information and a conscious work stress Argentinean products as free from wastes. A highly significant factor in the product’s quality is the application of technology and the knowledge of local beekeepers, which gives us calm and confidence at the moment of purchasing their product and therefore, be able to assure our clients their buying of a first standard product. |

Chañar also offers a process of homogenizing honey according to our clients’ preferences. In this procedure, the set of drums is emptied in homogenizing tanks refining the honey in such a way so as not to loose its properties. The procedure is carried out in a closed and compact system where the honey, in its route, is quickly heated in stable temperature, filtering and cooling, assuring an optimus treatment that reduce to a minimum the loss of volatile scents and thermolabiles elements (active principle of the enzymes and vitamins, etc), it does not produce HMF and other damages that can be caused when exposed long time to heat. Finally, a homogenized honey is obtained which is packed again in its original drums or is fractioned in 500, 250, 125 and 50 grs drums, according to its commercial destiny.
